The one I designed was different, as I noted, but used the same general idea; centrifugal gas turbine, ducted fan assembly, etc. However, their design looks a bit awkward and the GC looks like its going to be a bit on the high side. To instill stability with a device like this, you want the bulk of weight as low as possible with respect to the thrust source. Kindof like the bottle rocket design where the thrust comes from way up high and the weight of the stick stabilizes the device and keeps it going straight. The design I had used only two thrust vectors which come directly from a ducted fan out above the shoulders and down about 10" from a nominally sized individual's shoulders. Having 4 vectors complicates the crapola out of the design and inherently reduces reliability and stability. But I got the feeling you were thinking I was tooting my own horn and making out like I designed "THAT" particular one. No, I wasn't and I didn't. But I thought it was pretty clear that their design was much different from my own. :) I'll toot my horn now and say, "My design IS better though." LOL
